We Interviewed Folks!

thehearthjournal

We apologize for this tardy issue, landing in the latter half of our spring semester. The style of this issue partially accounts for our lateness to publish. You see, we expanded the range of our voices, opinions, and stories though interviews and polling. As a result, the HJ faced a common foe, a bane of humanity: logistical mess. But gleaming at the end of the tunnel, there was The Hearth Journal: Spring 2021 Interview Edition! We are proud to present five varying pieces. From international schooling, to dream decoding, to political opinions within a family, this issue showcases the complexity of experience. Reading these pieces, I noticed that certain moments in life lead to certain opinions. The word "certain" pertains in both its definitions: particularity and conviction. These experiences and opinions may have little width and length, but they do not lack in depth. Both experience and opinion have layers of common meaning and personal importance, righteousness and misinterpretation. They are, as Shrek puts so philosophically, like onions. I hope you enjoy all the onions in the Spring 2021 edition! We did not cut any onions from this issue, so do not shed a tear: every bit of great content is only a few clicks away.

Our last interview: what themes or content do you want to see in further issues? Leave a comment below if you have an idea.
